Guinness’ famous slogan is “Good things come to those who wait”, and the wait has been longer than expected for Guinness to open a large brewery outlet in Covent Garden.

Originally announced back in early 2022, with an expected opening in late 2023, it’s now been confirmed that the Guinness Open Gate Brewery will open on Thursday 11th December 2025.
The venue will be a hybrid of a brewery and a food-and-drinks mega-pub, and they will also be offering tours of the brewery area, which might make it of interest to a wider non-stout-drinking audience.
However, for the stout lovers, although it will have a brewery on site, they won’t be brewing Guinness itself there – that will still come from Dublin.
The Guinness Brewery that isn’t brewing Guinness is located in Old Brewers Yard, a few minutes walk from Covent Garden tube station, and there’s a pre-registration on their website for the first tours to go on sale shortly.
There will also be, what they describe as “epic Guinness merch” available from a shop on site, and a chance to learn how to pour a proper pint of stout – apparently it takes 119.5 seconds to pour the perfect pint.
Bring a stopwatch.
