It’s only been a few weeks I bought this plant and just saw the new growth yesterday. Why does the new leaf emerging has red/brown spots?
I’ve only watered it once after the soil felt dry. However, I did notice the roots coming out of the bottom of the pot.
What’s wrong?

I have heard them described as bruises. I know that mine does that and it doesn’t last forever, so the bruise theory makes sense to me.
