Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Step behind the lens and into the wild with 100 breathtaking images capturing nature at its most dramatic, beautiful and raw.
Now in its 60th year and on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, Wildlife Photographer of the Year returns to Adelaide Botanic Garden as a powerful reminder of the planet’s beauty and fragility. Displayed in the lush Bicentennial Conservatory, this global exhibition celebrates the wonders of wildlife while inspiring us all to protect the natural world.

Leaf Litter Critters
On now – 2 February 2026
Bicentennial Conservatory
$10 / $12 (kids under 12 free)
After being inspired by the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, kids can get creative at the Leaf Litter Critters station. Using leaves, seeds and other natural treasures gathered from the garden floor, they can design their very own critter, then frame it and snap a photo as a keepsake of their masterpiece.
It’s an imaginative and a lovely way for families to connect with nature’s small details.

The Wild Side Photography Competition
On now – 2 February 2026
Free entry
Grab your camera and see the gardens through a new lens. Visit Adelaide, Mount Lofty or Wittunga Botanic Gardens and capture the plants, fungi or animals that catch your eye.
Selected photos will be showcased on social media throughout the competition, with category winners chosen by a panel of expert judges. It’s a great excuse to slow down, look closer and appreciate the wild moments thriving all around us.

Museum of Economic Botany, Adelaide Botanic Garden
