Great story, love those Outfits . My dad took my brother and me on vacation to Thailand in 1999. Both of us boys had never been out of the country. I’m a twin ,imagine two 17 years olds running around in a foreign country. It was a great experience,I’ll never forget. Thanks for sharing.

As far as cities go, I love San Diego. Born in LA, lived in So Ca for sixty years and sailed Mission Bay. That said, I love living rurally next to Yosemite now with all the wildlife. Still garden though my gardens have gotten smaller as I have aged. Retired HS teacher and full time cat rescuer now.
I have a picture of my Mom in that garden. Yes, that is a beautiful area, happy Vacation!
You actually make San Diego look good. I was living in Newport Beach & Laguna Niguel for 12 years, but I moved to San Diego County a bunch of years ago (now in Julian, CA). I don't care for San Diego, but your story is GREAT ❤ and yes, the Hotel Del is magical. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. 😊

No, city life is not for me. I grew up 17 miles from Times Square NYC. I watched the ball drop in person at New Years Eve 3 times. Now I live "off the grid" no electric or water service. No computer or TV service and no trash pick up. Can't see another house from my house. A far cry from Times Square or living on the waterfront in Newport Beach. 😅
Favorite place when I lived there. Mount Soledad, In La Jolla, gave me piece in not so good times.
The bridge to Coronado is gorgeous and really sets you up for what you are about to experience when you cross it. But…..it scares me to death and I CANNOT be the driver😂

Once my wife gets her master's degree in 17 months we want to move to San Diego. If you are from California and are well traveled then you understand why. It's so beautiful and always something for everyone.

I have no doubt many of your viewers have been to San Diego. But for me – just once. Approx 12 years ago, I was there for my nephew's wedding. We stayed at the Half Moon Inn – where the cermony took place. And, we had the reception at the Bali Hai! They serve a mean Mai Tai, if I recall. LOVE that area. Really fun vid, thank you! My first job out of college was at Naval Air Station North Island! In 1990 Sondra and I were newlyweds. We had an apartment in La Mesa, and every day I drove over that bridge to North Island. At first we really thought that maybe we would become Californians, but one day we saw an opportunity to move closer to "home", and we moved to Idaho. I remember that very beach where the planes would fly over so low. So cool. We enjoyed our 5 months in San Diego. To answer your question, would I like to live in a downtown setting, I would have to say "no". All I want to see when I look out my window each morning is garden, sun, pumpkins, potatoes, etc. 😉
Happy Belated Birthday Kim! Wow Jerry! The edits on this! 🔥Those trains are huge for such a small platform! Were you also on a double decker train? SD looks really pretty. I didn't know that you lived in Colorado. Was that where you were born? Was SD why you moved to LA? We moved further out of London. It was very quiet and most places close at 10pm, which we thought was early. A lot of places where we used to live were open to about 12-2am. It's fine if you are free and single or as a couple but not great for kids. That being said this place has become so much more noisier and now they are building 14 storey flat apartment blocks near us. There is so much more traffic now as a tiny town. I do miss the hustle and bustle of where i used to live and being close to the river, but I much prefer it here with the green spaces. I swear our late fur daughter loved it when we moved here and having a garden and fields to go to and run in! It was like her retirement spa home! Thank you so much for sharing your stories and of your eldest daughters first moments! I found out before i left for work and was in shock. I wanted to wait until i got home again to test again and to sit down with hubby. We had been actively trying for 18 months and the Dr's said just before Christmas it would be hard for us to get pregnant. It was January and we were trying to put that side of trying out of our minds, after trying for so long. We call them our miracle child as by the following Christmas i was having cervical treatment. The interesting thing is though, our fur daughter knew probably before we did as she was acting odd and being clingy to me, rather than her usual Daddy's girl. Isn't funny how dogs have a sixth sense like that? Anyway, I just thought i would share too. take care.
