Tripped really hard on my San Pedro cactus last night.


It was about 830 pm and I decided to take my trash bins to the curb. I have all but 6 potted cactus in my basement for the winter. The 6 I left out are in a spot in my yard where the most sun hits them during the day. Well it’s pitch black out and I had both bins rolling behind me and I was walking super fast and couldn’t the cacti in front of me. I forgot they were even there. I tripped right over them, twisted my ankle got several spines stuck in my leg and scratched all over. My wife heard me shriek and thought something terrible happened. I’m just like man, who the fuck leaves random ass potted cactus in the middle of the yard in the Midwest in the end of October…..

    I caught a particularly hairy SS02 x Serra Blue with my leg at the end of a line of cactus dominoes last night, so I feel your pain!

    Sheeesh hope you’re okay. Once I was working on some Cacti deep in my pere garden and lost my balance. It was either fall into a bed of pereskiopsis and cacti or just gripping my spiky af Bridgesii and hoping it holds enough for me to regain my balance… so I grab the Bridgesii and to my surprise it holds and I get back up. Nasty nasty spines in my hand but I’d rather a few than some hundreds of pere spines lmao.

    One of my San Pedro fell while I was moving it and it fell right on my fucking NAIL and that bitch literally pierced my nail and got stuck in my thumb l. I felt it for 6 months till it grew out. Watch out man

    The other night I made a shelf system so I didn’t need to lean down to water my san pedro collection anymore.

    Very glad I’d not taken my first trip before I was ready. 😅

    Holy hell, I hope that wound on your foot doesn’t make it hard to walk.
