Does anyone know what's happening to my Sugar Maple? It's holding up the 10 foot cliff into my creek, but it's not looking too good right now. Looks like the bark is starting to peel off .. about 10ft tall. It's about 40 feet from my house. We already scheduled a tree removal crew that's coming in a few weeks to take down another tree that's really bad… and I'm not sure if I should add this. Should I get it removed?

Is it on the south west side? Could be sunscald (a tree’s equivalent of sunburn)
