Hi! I just wanted to share the story of this beauty! This is my first monstera, saved it from Home Depot in July off their little table stand. She was definitely not looking too hot and when I spotted her, I just knew I wanted to try to save the poor plant.
I picked her up and brought her to checkout where the checkout ladies asked if I was really purchasing that as it appears to be in its way out, that they’re sure there are other ones in better condition. They looked at me crazy when I said yes and proceeded to say it was a waste. So I paid full price and walked out happily with my new friend along with an another buddy too. I can’t just buy one plant, I always have to get the plant a friend as well lol
1st photo is what they looked like fresh from Home Depot in July.
2nd photo is 3 days later after purchase.
3rd + 4th photo is it currently in October.
5th photo are all the plant friends that are surrounding the queen at the top! Haha
Side note: 95% of those plants were either clearance plants or plants that I’ve managed to salvage. It’s been/is a work in progress!
Also if you guys have any suggestions/tips for the monstera or heck, any of the others. I’ll gladly take them into consideration! I’m still a somewhat newbie trying to gain knowledge as I go.
Thank y’all for reading if you made it ◡̈

Aww, what a heartwarming story 🥹your plants look so beautiful and well taken care of! Just wanted to mention that if you ever feel like rescuing a dying plant from a big box store again, you should ask for a discount! Usually they wouldn’t give you one unless you ask, but you could’ve saved yourself at least 10% or 20%. And also, you can return them in any condition for a full refund 🙂
Wow what a success story! That’s super impressive way to go! Congrats 👏🏼
