Got a buried downspout done but water is pooling at the end. Should landscaper mitigate this?

You don’t want that. Standing water is bad unless you plan to swim in it.

That’s opposite of what it should do did you test drainage of soil.

What was the thought process here? Is that on a hillside? If not, it should be going into a drywell or something similar.

That’s why you don’t hire bubba in a rusted pickup. Guarantee that thing isn’t close to a 2% grade. Love the end cap instead of a proper emitter. Also love how it just dead ends in the yard with a nice hole you can break your ankle in. I’m impressed 👍.

    In all seriousness.

    1. Idk how long that POS is but a proper landscaping firm will charge between $28 and $42 per linear foot depending on location, original grade and obstructions and if you need a sump add 30% to 40%

    2. Always install perf PVC, corrugated will always clog in a few years and end up crushed in less than 10. I have drains that I installed 12+ years ago and have never been called back to flix or unclog a single one. And I offer a lifetime warranty, lifetime clog removal and lifetime private utility location. Even then, not a single callback to repair or remove a single clog….

    3. Always have the trench dug below the frost line, have the trench lined with 8oz filter felt, install the perf PVC with the holes down.

    4. fill with rock rock to 4 – 6 inches below grade.

    5. Fold fabric over to cover the top of the rock, fill with topsoil until it’s slightly mounded. Place sod on top and hand tamp level.

    Wala lifetime drain, your welcome.

Always place emitters at roads or designated drainage areas to prevent erosion or oversaturation in other areas of yours or your neighbors property.

If you put a 90-degree elbow on it, would the green part be a grade? As long as that end is a few inches lower than the connecting downspouts, it should drain fine. Unless there is a very heavy rain. Needs a 90 and some dirt to fill the void around doge it.

Take that endcap off or debris from the gutters will end up plugging it.
