About two weeks ago I noticed my calathea was drooping so I checked the soil and it was dry, so I bottom watered it as I have been for the 9 months I’ve had it. The next week the older leaves started to curl and I noticed it was drooping more, but I didn’t take action because I had just watered it and the soil was still moist but not wet. The next day it was having a full on crisis so I decided to repot to fresh soil because the only thing I could think of was that it was over watered somehow and the roots were suffocating or rotting? Now it’s even worse and looks like this. Is it gone forever? Is there hope?

I would give it 2 weeks to see if it comes back. Calatheas are known to be dramatic. I purchased one from Lowes that at Lowes looked amazing, then looked like this when I replotted it, and now is sprouting new shoots.

The general advice I have seen

    1. They like their feet moist
    2. They prefer distilled water or rainwater
    3. Bright indirect light

How’s humidity like where you keep your plants?
I just got back from work today and my calatheas leaves were curled and droopy. I’m guessing it’s bc my humidifier broke and my room’s humidity is super low with the heat being on. I’m planning to get a new humidifier asap to see if that’ll help.
