More than 400 people gathered to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the UK’s first garden centre.
The event, held on Saturday, October 18, at Stewarts Christchurch Garden Centre, saw people celebrate the landmark occasion.
During the anniversary event, managing director and eighth-generation steward, Martin Stewart, reflected on the history of the business and shared the inspiring story of how his father, Ted Stewart, transformed the company and laid the foundation for its continued success.
Following this, BBC Gardeners’ World Presenter, Adam Frost, spoke about his life, his career and the people that helped him along the way.

Mr Frost said: “Horticulture is such a great industry, everyone is so kind, embracing and really looks out for each other.
“I already knew of the Stewarts’ story, which is truly mind-blowing.
“I was so pleased to be invited to celebrate this anniversary and Stewarts’ history with them.”
