To begin with there will be 354 wooden crosses on display, one for each person from the town that has died in conflict.
Area organiser for the Poppy Scotland Appeal, Alex Haddow said: “It’s the first time that we’ve done this, major cities have these and the reason is that local businesses have bought into it. All money made will go towards the Cowdenbeath Poppy Scotland total for this year.
“Poppy Scotland will have crosses for sale. If anybody has a relative who was involved in conflict, they are more than welcome to put one down.
“We have the deputy lord lieutenant, our MP, MSP, and local councillors coming along. The Black Watch Veterans’ Standard will be there too.
“Our intention is to leave the garden like that until November 11.”
The official opening will be at 1.30pm, and there are plans for other areas of the town to be decorated in the following days.
They include the entrance from Bridge Street, Broad Street, and Perth Road at the millennium garden, then Foulford Road.
Mr Haddow continued: “It means that whenever you come into town there’s some display of some kind for Poppy Scotland.”
