Can we meet Paul and Bethany sometime? Do they have kids that play with yours? Do you ride horses with Bethany? Is she going to help you with your horses when you get them? Can we see their pigs someday? ๐๐๐๐
I use the mix of chopped "green" (grass) and brown (fallen leaves) as the basis for very quick compost. Just pile it up someplace sunny and then cover the pile with a tarp and turn it with a pitchfork every few days. Keep it moist and watch it heat uo! When I don't have enough of my own, I drive around and look for piles left on the street (for city pick up) by mow and blow guys and bag it for my own use. The only potential draw back of this is that you don't know what sorts of chemicals the homeowners might have beer on their lawns, so don't use this compost around any food crops. .
Those tulips will be awesome! And Aaronโs mowing impressive
I think a good-sized Spring blooming shrub would be good in the center of the bed. A small forsythia, or the peach quince from PW bloom early, and you could plant some smaller clematis to grow tbrough it for summer interest. Or even one of the gorgeous aronias, for 4 season interest.
If this gig doesnโt pan out Aaron can always get a job on a golf course!! ๐
So satisfying ๐
The mowing looks fun!
As much as you love tulips Laura have you ever been to the Tulip Festival in Michigan? It's a fun and beautiful way to spend a couple of days. It's in Holland MI and next year it will run from May 1 to May 10 . There are over 5 million tulips planted.
@LauraLeBoutillier – do you know that โDarwinโ hybrid tulips are sometimes called โperennial tulipsโ, because after putting on a great show the first year, they will usually give you at least another year or two of good-size flowers.
This is probably your best bet if you want a fairly good guarantee that theyโll continue to come back from year to year.
It was so relaxing to watch you both do the Fall cleanup tasks…I actually had the feeling of "ahhh" when a big cleanup task is complete and everything looks ready for the next season. Wonderful!
Hope is everyone is back to feeling 100%. Thanks so much for your videos. They bring such a light into this world.
Aaron, Did you put a turbo on your lawn mower? You was going super fast turning around them tree like a nasa car! ๐๐๐๐๐
I donโt know where the energy or stamina comes from with Laura but I would have been exhausted after planting 600 bulbs. Let alone, a flower bed clean up, and planting a flower pot. ALL of you have to be physically fit to do intensive labor work day in and out. Iโve watched Laura get up and down from her kneeling pad without any assistance. She merely pops up from a kneeling position to a standing position. My knees nor back will allow me to do that. Iโve looked into assisted kneeling devices for planting and Iโve found flimsy ones. Laura or Aaron, could you perhaps include a kneeling device in your online store with side rails for us gardeners who need a little help getting up? I would definitely purchase one for myself and my mother in law. The biggest reason I donโt plant as much is merely due to the strain and pain on my knees. Iโm a healthy 50 year old but I have bad knees and back from injuries from a rough GenX childhood thinking I was invincible. ๐
Plz come do my yard Aaron๐
I was just wondering if anyone in the family ever takes any more โartistic โ photos of vignettes on the property like things as fleeting as the barn with the bulbs in peak bloom. So many opportunities there for a hobbyist photographer!
The sea creature youโre thinking of is a nudibranch! Also extremely beautiful and ruffley!!
Put a dust pan over the hole you just dug. And move the dirt off and scoot the pan over again. Tedious, yes.
Iโve been a long time subscriber and learned so much from you, love your family! It really would be informative. If after you plant a bed of bulbs like that, we could see how the irrigation system is set up. Iโm kind of at a loss on how much spacing and that type of thing for a bed thatโs planted with so many bulbs?
I LOVE clean up videos! It's so satisfying!
Looking forward to the spring "show". How satisfying for me to watched you. I was gifted about 200 bulbs for my birthday. Time for me to get at it. ๐ท
well done, Team GA! Gorgeous pansies and such an organized machine behind the beauty of all that you create!
My 5 year old grandson asked my wife โ whereโs DaDoo? She told him watching a video. He saidโ itโs probably Garden Answer.
Several other YouTube gardeners received these pansies as well and said they didnโt do well in shipping. They have all bounced back so I know these will be beautiful!
What a good day for planting bulbs & pansies, and the cleaning out of the flower bed. Paul getting the chicken coop ready for winter and Aaron picking up the leaves. Good job everyone!!!
I planted my 400 Colorblends bulbs this past weekend! ๐ฅฐ
Beautiful grass!!
bella blush has to be one of my favorite tulips. Since it's part of the Darwin series, it should come back year after year.
Very productive day! Tulips will b a showpiece and adore the ruffled pansies ๐ค Aaron's clean up was awesome to watch๐
Hi Laura and Aaron, Iโve watched your videos for many years now and have recently begun to wonder why you are no longer doing collaboration videos with other gardeners. I see Jim Putnam was in Oregon recently and it would have been interesting to get his take on your garden.
Fun watching Aaron mow and pick up the leaves!๐ ๐ The spring flowers are going to be beautiful!
I donโt know what it is about mowing leaves and grass but itโs so satisfying to watch thanks for sharing all canโt wait for the bulbs to show their best from the Land Down Under ๐ฆ๐บ๐จ๐๐ฆ
I fell in love with those frilly pansies we don't have them in Australia โคโค
Wow Laura you are good. I sure didn't think you'd get all those bulbs in there
Pansies flowers beautifull โค
Somebody is going to have seeds from that Pansy line. It wonโt take long.
May I ask why you quit using Espoma Sani-Care in the chicken coop?
27:06 ladies, why havenโt we invented a carpet vacuum like this? Haha, we could have versions that pick up toys and stick them in a box thatโs attached to it like the attachments that hold the cut grass.
Wondering if the dahlias cleaned by the chicken shed ??? Do they grow tubers for next year? Thanks
โค๐ Excited for Springs bloom, going to be Gourgously โค๐ Happy All are feeling better, Healthy Tomorrow's โค๐ Thank For Great Helpers Paul's & Bethany's Strengthening, God Bless โค๐
Thank you, Aaron! That was a very therapeutic few mins. I can admit it, I'm now envy green. ๐ Love that tulip combo, Laura.
