for the thrips to move from the plant to come on you, you must really be appetizing
Thrips rarely move from their plants
You’re probably fine, but Change your clothes when you get home anyway. I used to grow some highly susceptible plants indoors and the rule was to change clothes or to not wear any clothes when entering the work room. You are not overreacting in my opinion. Just being safer about it. A small inconvenience in order to avoid a much larger one.
Aren’t those mealybugs and not thrips ?
I’d change my clothes when I got home. I take no chances with thrips.
No you are not.
Throw your clothes directly in the wash , then shower. Don’t touch your plants before you do both
Those are definitely mealybugs, but I’d still probably wash my hands and/or change my clothes before touching my plants. I have been personally victimized by mealybugs.
Thrips are absolutely everywhere outdoors. It’s silly to be worried about the restaurant plant.
You come home, the minute you come inside, you take off all the clothes and run to your washing machine to wash them. I do the same anytime I walk by something that infested and it worked for me so far
Not overreacting, I’d burn my clothes just in case
I’d sneak some systemic granules into that pot the next time I was there.
even supermarket produce can be a vector/fomite for all the houseplant pests we hold so dear. think about that next time you buy fresh parsley ;-p
