Hey plant friends!
I want to share my anthurium Pendens (aff?). This plant is uncommon but not impossible to get š
The Look: Long, strap-like leaves with a beautiful, dusty blue/dark blue-green sheen (see close-up!).
The Oddities: It only seems to put out all its blooms once a year, and the blooms smell like a strange mix of fruit and dish soap/cleaner!
The Care: Super low-maintenanceāI basically ignore it, and it thrives.
Besides showing it I want to discuss if it's really Pendens – I got it as A. pendens, but I have doubts:
A. pendens should be much larger and supposedly has a reddish spathix (mine is not).
Itās currently quite small, but it has been growing in the deep shade of my massive A. pallidiflorum, which could be why.
If you have an Anthurium pendens, does yours look like mine?
Do your leaves have this blue tint?
Do your blooms smell like fruit/soap?
Does yours have the reddish spatix?
Tell me about your A. pendens or share a photo! I need to solve this mystery!
