Decided to keep the summer going indoors and have been able to grow several plants – tomatoes, peppers, beans, cucumber, spinach, lettuce, herbs. Was wondering what other veggies people grow indoors and if anybody has thoughts or suggestions. Here are some things that haven't gone so well and I'd appreciate help with:

  • How long should I have the light on for?? It's 150w, 1000 ppfd at 12", and I'm currently doing 14 hours a day. I also have a smaller one just for the oregano and thyme that are too far away
  • My peas did not do well at all. I put them in the same bag as a tomato and while they got enough light to grow, they got stunted early on. Not sure if the fertilizer was bad? I used 6-4-4 in the beginning. Or temperature? It's around 74°F+/-2
  • I'm not sure if beans were a good plant for this, haha. They did ok and are producing a second crop but finding the flowers to pollinate is tricky. Are there any varieties you would grow?
  • The tomatoes are taking forever to turn red, and new flower buds are falling off before they even develop fully. Not sure if these two things are related? I recently switched to 2-8-4 and hope this helps.
  • Thyme is growing really slowly under the smaller grow light but the oregano is doing well, did I just maybe mess up the transplanting? I've heard that can stunt plants
  • Some cukes don't grow and just stay like an inch long after pollination. Is this normal? Never noticed it outside
  • I'm wondering if I should replace the beans with something else – I could probably use more tomatoes, peppers, herbs, lettuce.

What other changes should I make? Thanks for and thoughts or suggestions!
