kill the ants and blow away (leaf blower) or manually remove the dirt

I can’t say for certain, but I assume the sooner you do, the better (or less worse).

i had three giant piles show up overnight. they are quick workers. i keep something called Spectracide Fire Ant Shield and it works like a champ. Just scatter the dirt after a couple days. It works quickly.

5 gallon bucket of hot water + 2 oz orange oil + 2 oz dawn soap. A water can with a spout can help to pour it deep into the anthill to kill the queens.

I used Medina Orange oil on a couple of piles. The stragglers came back in a different location, and I just dumped boiling hot water on the new pile as it wasn’t near any plants

Put some diatomaceous earth powder all over that pile.
