In @butterwakefield’s course ‘Small Garden Design’, Butter introduces the 3 case studies across the course: her own personal garden, a courtyard garden in North London, and @ritakonig’s garden.

In this lesson, you can see Butter and Rita take a look around her finished garden and discuss why they made some of the design and planting choices that they did.

What the trellis did, the painted trellis did was really completely screen what we wanted to hide. The closed gauge is so good, too, because you really can’t see through it. You start with your boundaries, don’t you? And we knew that we wanted to put the trellis up and then the next layer is the trees. But what’s special about this garden is the way that it was built. And it’s incredibly sustainable because A, we reused all the York that was here. B, we got new reclaimed York stone, but it was reclaimed, so it’s not new. And there’s no cement at all in the garden. So, it’s really, really good for the environment. And the other thing that’s so clever, I think, is your use of color. Your bold choice to do your front door different from your main windows. I just thought it would be boring to have them all matching. Yeah.

Sichtschutz gegeben, Blickachsen spannend, Recycling vorhandener Platten, vielfältige Bepflanzung, ganz wunderbar!

    Dankeschön für die Inspiration
