I am thinking it may be some pathogen? and I have no clue about that. It didn't appear to be rot as in even the black ones are tough and feel similar to the healthy leaves.

Has anyone experienced this with tillandsia or has insight into why this is happening to the poor babies!

    May need more light. Not necessarily brighter light but longer amts of light. Possibly a grow light would help. Mine are currently under a grow light (and more humid) for about 12-14 hrs per day.
