    It’s an adaptation in response to macrofauna that kept eating its ancestors…Christmas Bush. It has urishiol oil just like poison ivy as well.
    Basically, it’s a giant sign saying “Do Not Touch Me!”

    Comocladia dodonaea, with common names Poison Ash, and Christmas Bush. It is a species of tree in the cashew/poison ivy family, native to Caribbean islands.
