Charlie Dimmock, the TV presenter, first graced our screens as part of BBC’s Garden Rescue team in 2016, but she’s been a household name since 1997.
The 59 year old made her memorable debut over two decades ago as a gardening expert on the BBC’s outdoor makeover show, Ground Force, where she stayed until its final episode in 2005.
Following that, Charlie took the lead in The Joy of Gardening before hosting her own series, Charlie’s Garden Army, which unfortunately only lasted one season.

On her TV hiatus, Charlie told Radio Times: “People think that if you’re suddenly not on telly, you’ve stopped working. That doesn’t happen, because we all have mortgages to pay.(Image: BBC )
Charlie Dimmock was renowned for going braless while presenting Ground Force. Speaking up on her daring wardrobe choice, she previously said: “Ground Force was a long time ago, and I have to say, even now, people will bring it up. It is very silly. It was always just for comfort.”If you’re swinging a sledgehammer, you want to be comfortable! People say, ‘Why don’t you wear a sports bra?’ But those are not the comfiest things in the world.”(Image: BBC)
Charlie Dimmock addressed the reaction to her weight gain and said that she was unhappy with how fans saw her body change. In 2016, the presenter told The Independant: “I’ve always been up and down in my weight. I’ll never be slim or skinny, let’s put it like that. One season I’ll be a size 14, then 18, but it’s something I’ve just accepted now. I’m at that age where I think, life is too short.”She later told The Sun: “It’s horribly unfair. If Alan Titchmarsh had developed a bit of a pot belly, no one would have turned a hair but because Charlie is a woman, she’s considered to be a fair target.”(Image: BBC)
Charlie Dimmock continued: “I had been on TV a very long time but I had always been doing other things. Ground Force ran its course. It was of its time. It was good fun, very enjoyable, and it had its run.’The presenter added: “I’ve been busy. At the end of the day I do have a real job. I’m a gardener. I do garden design. I’ve been doing a lot of work with dementia homes, at flower shows, giving demonstrations, working on cruises. I’ve been pootling around doing quite a lot of things.”(Image: BBC)

Then, in 2013, she joined some of Britain’s most esteemed gardeners on BBC Two’s Great British Garden Revival, staying until 2015.
These days, Charlie can be regularly spotted presenting Garden Rescue, where she and a team of top designers traverse the country, competing to create dream gardens across the UK.
As the TV star has long been a favourite with viewers across the UK, here’s a look at her transformation over the years, reports the Express.
