Now in our AI impact coverage tonight, a closer look at how those dry conditions are sparking farmers to take action. Well today, photojournalist Scott Weiss and I talked with a farmer in Henry County. He’s taking extra safety precautions and tells us what the bigger threat may be for the future of their farm. cutting good in here. — Rob Rod
— Catch is focused on solutions. His farms soybean yields are lower than some years but decent. The dust, however, is higher. We’ve had something happen this week that we’ve never had happen before. We’ve had 3 fires start in soybeans stubble as much as 20-30 minutes later after the machine passed over there. — Static electricity and dry dirt creating challenges for catch in his
— crop. They snuffed it out. And lo and behold another one started in a small area. Luckily farmers like Rock know how to problem solve. Well, we’ve got 65 gallons of water on this sprayer. We can get anywhere. We have a problem very quickly. The crew is also pulling a chain behind the combine to kill electric energy. We’ve 3 times this week, just this week. — The
— threats to the farm go beyond physical flames. — You’ve created more supply than there is demand.’s
— son-in-law Rob, I just wish we could not focus on China so much and how they’re not buying and find a use for it domestically. Or other buyers. Low prices because of trade troubles and high input costs are adding fuel to a financial fire. Next year is not looking promising either. It’s probably going to be worse than this year at this point. Although the bottom line looks red for many farmers, — Rock doesn’t think government aid is the
— answer. Well, it’s going to be like trying to put out a house fire with a garden hose. We need markets and quick, quick. — He’s looking for a
— fix. We like what we’re doing. That’s why we keep doing it, I guess. To find solutions for his farm and his wallet. We just don’t know how long we can stand it at these prices. On Truth Social, President Trump says he’s meeting with the with the president of China in 4 weeks to talk about trade. Now today in an interview with CNBC, the US Secretary of the Treasury says farmers can expect an announcement next Tuesday about government aid.

Trump is a mad dog
YOU NEED A MARKET QUICK????? WELL…..YOU HAD A MARKET ALREADY. But somebody pushed away your customers
He had them feeding from one hand just to choke them with another. Our newest welfare buyout recipients. The worst part is they have no one to blame but themselves.
B’s,bsc,badwater
China told the US farmer to take a hike…they are not coming back. Ever since the first Trump tariffs, China is grooming the rest of the world for their resources. And don't only talk about beans. Brazil is eating our lunch with cotton production. They are now the number one producer.
The problem with the farmer's Plan B. Those million-dollar bean and cotton pickers do not do tomatoes or potatoes.
Trump Screwed the farmers…and to add to the disconnect…the farmers will probably vote for Trump again in 28.
Insulting your #1 customer is idiotic
Iowa voted 56% for Trump. Henry county voted 67.3% for Trump so they should be celebrating!
They got their king, they got their tariffs and they stopped a black woman from being president! They stopped that trans kid from playing lacrosse and the people stopped eating the pets! So what if you lose your farm! You got the mass deportations so you can go out and get an American job!!! You don't have to worry – plenty of great job are out there for you! You can go change some elderly guys diapers, or clean out septic tanks or pour hot tar in the sun all day! You could go pick lettuce or strawberries or do any other farm job that you want! They'll let you work long, hard hours and pay a few bucks an hour so you can keep from getting the welfare checks that you hate!! Work one of those jobs for 20-30 years, save up your money and maybe, if you're lucky, you might just be able to buy that farm you always wanted!! You get to live the American dream!!!
I will give them credit, though…they figger'd out how to put water on fire! Genius!
Any former jobs in Indian tractor harvester driver any vehicle job
There are plenty of jobs now when ICE is on the move. Farmers can just sell their land and change job. They can pick the vegetables for minimum hourly wage instead of growing them. Or work as a truck driver. Trump has really thought it through for you American farmers, stop whining
For those that, think that these farmers feed America, that’s not true. majority of the soy bean 🫘 and corn 🌽 farmers produce for export markets to feed livestock 🐂🐖 but their major customer 🇨🇳 will no longer buy from them. We should not bail these farmers out. Based on free market principles alone if you don’t have a customer for your products, your business closes down.
No bailout! They purposely, willfully did it to themselves.
不是JD成立公司,开始收购这些农场了么,
Farmers voted for bailouts. It’s the only thing that makes sense.
Trumpcession They can wear their red hats to bankruptcy
😂😅😅
