    Not sure on the specifics, but the square stem and the flowers says some kind of salvia to me

    Firecracker fern. I have them in many spots in my yard. They are extremely drought tolerant. They slowly spread to make a small grouping. I cut them back 3” from the ground once the freeze kills them back. One year when it didn’t get too cold they stayed green year round.

    I believe it’s Russelia sarmentosa (Red rocket firecracker plant) – I believe they had a few at The Natural Gardener earlier this week – I think it’s a rarer plant to find.

    There are similar plants like Russelia equisetiformis and they have similar names re: firecracker plant/fern Russelia equisetiformis is more common to see at nurseries. Think TNG also has those.
