is it normal for a new leaf to be this color on a calathea makoyana?

    Yes very normal! As they’re exposed to the sun more overtime they will darken.

    I find it funny that calatheas as such drama queens that it makes people question their sanity when a healthy leaf of a different colour pops out.

    I get it! Mine is a pink-black calathea star and it does pop out a green leaf from time to time but this plant is such a trickster and is always trying to pull a fast one on the people who take care of it.

    Yeah it’s a new leaf give it 2 weeks it will look like the rest, it’s not anaemic don’t worry lol

    They darken over a few weeks, but if they don’t get enough light, they don’t always darken to where the other leaves are.
