Watered thirsty-looking plant a week ago but it’s still wrinkled. I did too watering until water came out the bottom but I didn’t notice any change. Should I let it soak for a long time in bottom watering maybe? This was my first time watering it since I got it a month or so ago.

I would say just wait another week and see. Then if it still is wrinkly then water it but water it very thoroughly, make sure it gets drenched and plenty of water should come out of the bottom

Put water in a spray bottle and just mist it lightly for a few days💜

Yes, but wait until the soil is fully dry before you do the second water. And yes, in your situation I’d bottom water.

    A few possibilities are:

    1. You watered correctly but the roots are dormant/dead and need to be stimulated to grow and take up water again. That can take some time and a few tries of watering. Your plant is definitely thirsty but those can survive pretty severe drought, so I think it will pull through even if it takes you a few more weeks to get it to drink up.

    2. When you watered, the water came out of the bottom but didn’t wet the soil very much. This can happen if the soil is hydrophobic and/or if you have a gap between the soil and the side of the pot, especially if the soil is compacted. If it’s compacted you can fix it by inserting a stick and then tilting it. Try not to stab the roots too much. Either way, a good long bottom water should help. Bottom water until the top of the soil is wet.

If that’s the soil it was sold in, or if it is been a while since you’ve potted, it may need a thorough repot into !gritty soil. Or, it may be root bound and may want an upgrade.

You need to assess the soil and roots, and fix if needed, before getting too crazy with watering right now.

How often have you watered it since getting it? Typically, the wrinkles go away agreed a good soak. If it’s been more than a day and it’s still stinky, I’d honestly wait longer before soaking it, like someone else said. Give it a good soak next time the soil is totally dry. If the soil was so dry before you watered it, the water could have all run through without really wetting the soil, but if you’re not sure, it’s better to wait than to risk overwatering.

It’s either root rot or under watering. Impossible to tell from a picture. If you can pop plant out of pot check the soil. See how dry. Also compare soil type to our wiki. The soil can also become hydrophobic.

If pot is small probably under watering. Yes jades in a terracotta pot with no liner can be soaked. The terra cotta pots tend to dry out quicker.

    What I would do.

Pop out of pot check soil if dry. Check roots. Check soil type. If plant does not want to come out get knife and go around perimeter of pot to break that bond. Put back in pot poke 5 or 6 holes in soil with skewer.

If dry soak in water until soil saturated about 10 minutes.

I’m guessing the soil is hydrophobic this happened to my jade in a small pot. Bottom water it to fully soak it and repot if it continues
