You’re probably mowing down free food every summer without knowing it! 🌿
In this video, I show you 3 edible plants that grow in almost every backyard : dandelion, red clover, and plantain. They’re packed with nutrients, easy to find, and totally free.

Hello everyone. In this clip, I will show you three edible plants that you can find in your backyard and that you’ve probably been mowing down all summer. Keep in mind that it’s the fall right now. They probably look better in the spring, but you can still find them at this time of the year. So, first plant is the famous dandelion. Here’s the leaf. What it looks like. The leaves have more calcium and vitamin C than spinach. There’s also less oxalates in them. They’re loaded with iron, with potassium. They promote good digestion by creating more bile flow, and they help detox the liver. The whole plant is edible. You can also use the roots as a coffee replacement by roasting them. And you can use the petals to garnish your meals. Oh, well, it’s raining now. Okay, so now that it’s raining, got to hurry up and find the next one. There you go. Plantain. This plant contains vitamin C, calcium, and vitamin A. You can use it into soups. You can blend it in your smoothies. You can saute them in the pan. And you can also chew the leaves to make a paste out of it and put it on your insect bites to relieve them. That’s the fruit here. These seeds are what we call psyllium husk. I’m sure you’ve heard of it before. It helps with digestion and relief constipation. So, you can blend them also put them in oatmeal and it’s good soluble fiber. Oh, and one last thing I forgot to mention, but these leaves, they taste just like mushrooms. Not kidding. So, now let’s look for the third plant. Oh, there’s a lot here. That’s the red clover. So, we’ve got the flower here and here we have the leaves. This plant can be found anywhere. It is high in magnesium. It is high in calcium and B vitamins. It is also a blood purifier. It’s good for skin health. You can use it as as a tea for hormonal balance. You can dry them up and use them for desserts and things like that cuz it tastes like vanilla when you dry them. Or you can just eat it as it is. Like the leaves don’t taste like much. And to be honest, I’ve been eating these flowers since I’m a little kid. Hey guys, I hope you like this video. If you want some more, give me a like, comments, you can subscribe. I may do some videos that are longer where I explain more in details which plant is good for what. But yeah, hope you guys enjoyed and see you next time.
