It depends on what you live. I’m in Zone 7a (MD) & have a firestick/pencil cactus that I keep outside spring-fall. As the season changes from summer to fall, the cactus will change to a beautiful orangey-red color – like yours. Hence the name “fire” sticks”. I suspect that’s what’s happening & if that’s the case, it’s fine. When you bring it inside to overwinter it, it’ll return to being entirely green.
