It’s been a couple days since it broke, too many branches/fruits… I was wondering if there was anything that can be done with the main branch as a last effort but I’m not too hopeful. Put it in a vase of water? (half kidding) Luckily there’s already another offshoot coming off the trunk.

if nothing can be done I’ll probably try to use it as smoking wood, just so it doesn’t go to waste 🙁

Looks just a bit small for 50 years old…

Parents have an old persimmon tree. It’s broken and regrown a bunch. Water it and I’m sure it will grow again.

I haven’t had a chance to try this myself, but if you know how to graft a limb from a tree, you could try that. Set up the graft work (knife, dirt, plastic wrap and aluminum foil) and then try to keep the base of the break soaked in water so it can try to hydrate. I’ve always been curious of this could work on a severed limb.
