This was the first time I tried to grow anything of my own, most things didn’t grow, but what has is amazing. Definitely didn’t have the best set up, but this was some of the best food I’ve ever had! Swiss chard will always have a place in my garden😁.

Nice! I love Swiss Chard too. You might want to try growing some indoors this winter. You can even buy seed in bulk and grow them to eat as sprouts. If you have plants still in the ground come winter, they will often keep growing even after frosty weather, it just makes the leaves a bit thicker. Which I kind of like. Better than spinach in my book and far easier to grow.

  2. Thanks so much for your comment! Swiss chard is amazing, I only started eating it a year or so ago and it’s so good! I’ve been reading about that, I don’t know too much about it, but I’ve seen that it’s biennial! I can try maybe growing them inside, I wouldn’t have thought of that. I had no clue that it could make the leaves thicker when it gets cold! I like the thicker leaves too! I tried planting spinach, mine is SO slow and only one plant has come up, it’s a little baby😂

We do swiss chard every year in our garden. Once we have about 2 cups cooked down, we make a swiss chard pie with it. We cranked out about 4 pies this year, and despite the cold weather the chard has been staying alive. We might get one more before snowfall!
