BOSSIER CITY, La. — Fall is in full swing across the ArkLaTex, and gardeners are preparing for the next season of blooms.
The Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners are making it easy to plan ahead with a fall bulb sale set for Saturday at the Red River Research Station in Bossier City.
It runs from 8 a.m. to noon, featuring thousands of bulbs for gardeners of all skill levels. Shoppers can browse everything from amaryllis and iris to daffodils and peonies, perfect for planting this fall.
But the event is more than just a sale. Visitors can participate in hands-on educational sessions, including lessons on how to force bulbs, read seed packets, and plant seeds correctly. Attendees can also learn how to identify different bulb types, understand chill hours, and even create a “bulb lasagna,” a layered planting technique designed to produce blooms throughout the season.
The Master Gardeners encourage new members and visitors interested in gardening to learn more about their programs. Additional information about the bulb sale and other events can be found at nwlmg.weebly.com or by calling 318-408-0984.
