So I got these from Home Depot, even though they were on my “Not Getting” list (not sure why anymore). This is the pot it came in and it’s looking like a repot is in order. I’ve done the quarantine process and gave it the sexy juice spray down.
Any advice for a first time Lithop mom? I think it needs a chunky/airy soil mix but do I just treat it like a normal succulent? Are their design tips for these? I see a few folks will place them in pots with rocks for the aesthetics it seems like.
TIA

They are not placed in pots with rocks for the aesthetics, they need to be potted in mostly inorganic media so some people pot them in purely rocks and coarse sand. Soil is not a good idea for lithops as it can hold onto too much water and can harbour fungus that can cause rot.
They are not like normal succulents as they need generally more light then the average succulent and are watered less frequently.
They are only to be watered in autumn and spring, unless you live in a super hot dry climate which would mean you can water a dribble every few months in summer as well. You must never water when the tops not wrinkly and never water when it’s slitting.
