This is Atriplex halimus, also known as saltbush — a brilliant evergreen shrub that looks great and tastes amazing. The leaves have a natural salty flavour, a bit like marsh samphire, and even the pollen and seeds are edible.

It’s a tough, architectural plant that brings structure to the winter garden while staying productive all year — a perfect edimental (edible ornamental).

This is another cool edible. It’s an evergreen shrub called salt bush atroplex halamus. And the seeds just as before their ripening are edible as well. I’ve got this lovely yellow pollen on. And it tastes incredibly salty, almost like marshfire. I think it’s a fantastic edimental plant that provides structure to a winter garden as well. If you’re interested in edible ornamental planting, creating edible landscapes in your garden, then just comment the word edimental and I’ll send you my free guide.
