😂. I’ve been trying to hang on but I’m finally ready to let them go but it’s been raining the last two days. So can’t get out there to pull the rest if the plants out.
The stinking deer got most of my beans…..grrr! I did hit the plants with DeerOff about 3 times–the deer here are apparently immune. I have the few still with me covered inhales I can get a decent seed harvest; it's going to be around freezing tonight so they are covered with double layer of flannel sheets.
In the south we just flip our gardens to cabbage , broccoli , cauliflower , carrots, celery, sweet peas and onions. We seldom get a frost before Christmas and can actually grow two crops of cabbage, broccoli and carrots.
😂😂 I seriously had the thought this morning that I can just stop now if I want to. I noticed a sudden influx of leaf footed bug. I have another 6 weeks until the first frost though
Forementioned, cornmeal and cow manure cover your fields with this now and by next year your soil will be regenerated. The fermented cornmeal is apparently what Terra preta was made from in South America it really introduces a biome that enriches the soil. The cow manure helps you do this faster.. It is better if you plow it under try it in one garden section and then next year compare it to the soil next to it do a video about it and see what do you think?
Do you let the pumpkin patch stay to compost? See you taking bean out. Ever think of leaving them in the raised bed if you do t want to grow another crop?
I’m in southern Ontario getting some nights of frost and cool temperatures and I’ve been covering my peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, beans, etc with frost blankets mostly just to use the plants as cold storage for the remaining produce. However, it’s getting tiresome. Still lots to eat between cool weather crops. You’re right, it’s fine to finally burn out on protecting/nursing many crops this late in the season if the weather is constantly threatening and often like with your pumpkins, it’s a waste of valuable resources like fungicide.
If you feel that way, you shouldn’t be gardening. You should probably do something else. I live in the south and garden all year long. I couldn’t imagine not having a garden going…. Because I love it
I'm done and need to get everything out of the garden before the snow arrives. I'm putting it to bed for the next owner. I hope they enjoy this garden as much as I did. 😊❤
I garden in a location that is heavily shaded most of the day for the months of mid fall to mid spring . Even leafy greens that overwinter well elsewhere fail to thrive . I am learning to let go of the illusion that I can garden year round .
Over here on the other side of the state I'm relieved that gardening is about done and I beat you to pulling those beans, although my cows eat the vines and they hurry me along. I do still have swiss chard in the garden. The green beans that the rabbits left me are all in jars, peaches in the freezer, sauerkraut packed, pickles are pickled. Potatoes and onions and butternut squash are in storage. I'll still can some potatoes and freeze that swiss chard, but cooking and eating my harvest is part of the joy of gardening, so when I'm done growing and harvesting, I'm done and I go on to the next phase without hesitating.
You had me rolling when u said watch and demo’d ripping that plant out. 😂 I needed to hear this video. Im babying stuff that seriously needs to come out and be done with. And replaced. Thanks MIG.
I find this channel hard to want to watch because of how negative the recent video titles have been. Recent examples: give up, scam, never, bad, trouble, mistakes, avoid, worst, destroyed….and it goes on. Hope you find some positivity in your life and quit trying to work an algorithm.
My cucumbers were the first ones I ripped out. I still had tomatoes flowering as recent as last weekend (in zone 5B), but knew it was a race against time, so pulled them out. I have carrots and peppers still in ground., but it’s their time next.
I'm trying to grow peas. They look great. But also my dill is crazy. Se MI. Tomatoes still growing, and yellow zucchini, but the squirrels have eaten them. 😢
Aww. My beans are losing their leaves & turning yellow. Been trying & trying to keep them going! But my kitten yowls everytime I come inside. He has a green bean addiction. Roma green beans specifically. They are what he loves about life? Will chase a bean around the house for hours! Or until the dog gobbles it up? I have Kale. He doesn’t like Kale. Not into Swiss Chard. Lots of mustard. But the beans are a heartbreaker. Going to be trying to find fresh beans at the store in the middle of the winter, just for the cat! Am trying to work up the courage to pull out my tomatoes, they are not changing color and starting to look sad. Garlic is in. Waiting on frost but been in the 30’s a couple times here. Can’t afford grow lights for cat-beans.

thinking about thos tomatoes
Those pumpkins look great for canning and pies. Pumpkins seeds are a natural dewormer. They work great for chickens, pigs and humans.

Really? When your season ends mine begins. I have 100 tomato sets I am going to put into the ground within 2 weeks.😊😊😊

Luke you shouldn't advertise what you don't have, every seed in your company is sold out and hasn't been restocked.

I agree and Im free now and it feels so good. 😊❤❤
“When it’s time to pull your plants out, it’s time to pull your plants out.” That about sums it up in 5 seconds without the drama.

4:55 I think he yelled cut and planted that back and apologized profusely😂😂

Thank you for giving me permission to remove them. They have produced so much and they are ready to be done. HUGS!
I pulled out all my beans out today, too. I'm readying the beds for garlic.
“Get beets on the ground”??? I see what you did there.
This video was 'very refreshing' ~ Thank-you !!
Your season is ending as the cold sets in. On the otherhand, mine in Hawaii is just beginning.
