STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team notched a 20-1 victory over Garden City CC in 10 innings on Wednesday evening at Cowgirl Stadium.
The 10-inning contest consisted of five situational innings, where runners started on base for those innings. Instead of traditional scoring, the team that scored the most runs in that specific inning secures the point for that frame. The other five innings of the contest were regular traditional play.
OSU won all five of the situational innings to add five points to its total.
The Cowgirls had eight players with multi-hit performances in the victory, while at least 15 Cowgirls had at least one hit.
Six different Pokes recorded a triple, and Karli Godwin and Amanda Hasler both hit home runs in the victory.
Preslee Downing got the start in the circle and pitched 3.0 perfect innings to secure the victory. Ruby Meylan, RyLee Crandall and Madison Hoffman all pitched in the contest and split the remaining seven innings. The pitching staff notched 19 strikeouts as a whole in the 10-inning contest.
The OSU offense combined for 24 hits and 12 different Cowgirls had at least one RBI in the fall finale.
Oklahoma State concluded its fall season with a record of 5-2 and outscored its opponents by a combined margin of 60-19.
