First time gardener here so please pardon me for my ignorance. I have about 12 of them currently growing but these 2 are the longest so far. Not really sure about the variety of the eggplant and I planted them out of whim. Can someone ID my eggplant please? thanks!

Sorry, meant to be a question mark. 😅
They will grow bigger. Water and feed them with compost and they will grow faster. I noticed with mine that they didn’t loosen up on the plant and I had to twist a bit. Some of mine were 9 or 10 inches.
Depends on what variety they are if you’re looking to see eggplant like you buy from the store that you can stop or make eggplant parmesan I think they need three to four more weeks of warm to hot weather and enough water. In Atlantic City, if they were this size, they might not make it to maturity before we have Frost.
Hmm. There are some very small types that only grow to around 4-5” but some that are that same shape that get to about 7”. They do kinda look like my Ping Tung which gets to the 7” mark. Any clues to what you might’ve planted? From seed or store bought starts? Brand?
Did you plant them from seed or did you buy seedlings? They look like they might be the elongated ones that you find in Asian cuisine. Some varieties can be a foot long or more but I harvested mine when they stopped getting bigger, around 6″-8″. Next time I’ll see if I can get some more nutrients into the soil for them and get bigger eggplants.
You need to check your seed packet or seedling tag. That will give you the approximate date until maturity and the size. Or if you know the variety, you can search for that information. There’s dozens of varieties of eggplant. Without some additional information, it’s hard to know.
