Approximate age? Although Silkies like to make you suffer lol. The hens also wait a looong time to start laying eggs.
I’m no help, but those are lovely chickies.

    Rabbit.

Seriously, on a chicken you’d look at the tail for sickle feathers, at the hips for pointy looking saddle feathers, and on the neck/shoulders for narrow/pointy hackle feathers. Unfortunately, avian pompoms do not express these characteristics before they start crowing.

    Gawd I LOVE silkies!

Silkies are notoriously difficult to tell before crowing or laying but those both look like hens to me. Mostly because one of them would tidbit or dance to the other if it was a roo. Young silkie roos tend to do that even before they crow or present in any other way. These two look like sisters hunting and pecking together.

Looks exactly like my pair. Only difference i can tell is one has a more fluffy head than the other. I dunno if that determines anything.

We have one just like those. Only way we found out was when it started crowing lol

silkies are the absolute worst to sex. Ngl we just waited for them to crow. We had a silk named audrey which didnt crow for the longest time, hence the girly name. Picked him up one day and he yelled at me.
