I consider the rain water better than miracle grow fertilizer, I love the rain it takes care of my garden so I can relax with a good movie. My husband and I take our walks at the beach during the weekdays at the hotel del Coronado which is only 10 minutes from my house. Have to stay fit to work around the garden.
We were under a burn ban, finally rained yesterday. It’s true everything greens up fast after a good rain. My wife and I walk, definitely a great way to stay fit. Visiting California is on my bucket list, the beach is calling my name. Busy yard day here, cleaned out my garden shed. Organizing my fertilizer, tools, etc. Next is leaf collecting for compost /leaf mould pile. Thanks for sharing.

🌺Aloha Kim & Jerry, enjoyed your video. You two are still young compare to us. We've been busy with our family life that making our videos is in the back burner, but we somehow squeeze a video once a week, instead of two videos a week. T is doing his own remodeling of our upstair getting it ready for our daughter and fiancee to move in. Also, our youngest son and new wife will be in town soon, so we're getting things ready for their friends arrival, our family celebration for my son/new daughter in law and they all want a garden tour.(We just did a great clean-up of our back lanai and garden). We will probably film the tour and get a younger generation view of our garden. LOL🤣…BTW we haven't had any massive rain yet, so hoping our sunny days hangs on for three more weeks.🙏 Loving CaliKim indoor garden seeds. Mahalo and sorry so long. P.s. I wish I could have a shed in my backyard. (Oh and, also a greenhouse). "City restrictions" make it very difficult for either, so for storage, I make use of multiple storage tubs tucked under my deck, in the garage, and my basement. If I labeled consistently, and correctly, not a big deal. Howeverrrrrr …. 😉….!! I've noticed that both exercise AND your diet trend on the healthier side. Good for you! My digestion doesn't do well with processed food. Hence, one reason I garden is to eat real and whole from my backyard for as long as each season will provide. You guys are just young whipper snappers! I have 6 years on Jerry. So glad younger people are awake and aware of the need for all of us to start taking responsibility for ourselves by growing our own food.
We finally got rain in London, UK! It's great and the lawn is greening up now. Also, a great time to sow some grass seed.
We picked the last of the outdoor green tomatoes and taken down the plants, knowing we are in for some rain this week and i didn't want them to get blight or split, so i am ripening them in a box with newspaper and apples. I have just got some manure, so will be putting down some cardboard, adding the manure and compost, before planting the spring cabbages.
Yes hubby and i have our separate tasks. I am more into gardening, so i do the garden planning, sowing, up potting, transplanting the seedlings out and maintaining them. Hubby deals with hedges, trees, watering, fertilising and looking after the lawn. When we do get the odd weed, it's mainly me doing it but hubby deals with the more identifiable ones. I find that by having our own set of tasks and responsibilities, we are not treading on each others feet and we work well on joint tasks.

My dad is 84. No diabetes, cane, wheelchair or walker. He still drives and loves to dance! No can food or microwave meals for him. Everything is prepared fresh. He’s found a good balance and is getting more exercise.

Yes, your garden does green up after it rains, even better after a thunderstorm. The nitrogen oxides dissolve into the rain droplets. Your plants get a nice little nitrogen boost. As I'm redoing the garden, I'm looking at putting a couple tool/glove buckets around the garden.
