Just ordered this guy from mountain crest gardens, any of you know what might be causing this? I didn't see any pests when I was inspecting him while repotting, and I don't think there was any obvious root rot, though I haven't really grown mesembs before so I might just not know what I'm looking for. (bonus lithops at end – just got this guy too 🙂)

It could be nothing, it could be oedema scars from overwatering, it could be pests, could be mechanical damage. I also have some Faucaria when their leaves get old that they start to kinda break down and get spots like this for a while before they’re finally dropped and reabsorbed as the plant grows bigger.

It doesn’t look like most pest damage, but that can present a little weird in some succulents. I’d isolate them all for a couple weeks just in case (as you always should). But it looks overall fine!
