  1. I don't think most people love the Alaskan.Cedar as much as you do. In my opinion, it's an okay tree. You have other trees, that are much more beautiful.

  2. Such beautifully structured trees! ❤❤❤❤DEF would plant around with low accent plants, seeing their shape is the ultimate goal.

  3. WOW super busy. Removing those roses sure opened up the area. Maybe consider a clematis for the area. They would look beautiful and not overtake surrounding plants and they don't require much attention.

  4. Little Samantha with her tiny shovel and then tagging lock step behind her mam is the cutest thing❤❤❤! Her fiery spirit and matter of fact responses in previous videos warms my heart.

  5. Awesome job around the chicken coop. It was pretty funny watching the chicken look in that hole that you dug for your new pine tree there 😀.

  6. At 9:11 you talk about the shock of the hawthorn tree on the berm being in shock. When you planted it you put a lot of biotone in the hole!
Do you think that’s why it’s in shock? Do you think before it gets rooted in you pull it up and remove some of that biotone so the tree isn’t sitting in so much of it?

  7. I can't wait for you to free up that Sergeant Crabapple! It's going to make you so happy that you're going to kick yourself for not doing it sooner! 😂

  8. I actually like the smoke bush by the chicken coop, especially now that it too has a bit more breathing space. It’s a nice size and provides a lovely red contrast with the other plants around it. 🤷‍♀️

  9. A straight walking path with a small seating area where Aaron is standing at 24:19, would break up the straight line that’s bothering him. It could also be one of those hidden jewels you want dotted throughout your property, and a great place to store horse treats for the horses!!! I can’t wait to see it all evolve. Everything is looking so beautiful!!!

  10. Are you sure you really want horses? Thats a big commitment a lot of time and work. Also horses live a very long time up to 30 years🥺

  11. If you were to ever get your horses, just imagine riding horses on your pass that you are creating be very fun and maybe make you seem like you’re in the mountains on trails

  12. Recommendation (if not already mentioned in the comments below): transplant the Zepherine Roses to the large elongated arbor over the stone walkway in the South garden area.

  13. You planted the tree too close to the chicken run fence. You will end up cutting this tree down in the near future.. You're always cramming plants in for instant gratification. It will look good for now just like the rose that now had to be removed. That smoke tree will g row massive, another one that is too crammed in. I'm a gardener with 50 years of experience. Been there, done all of that .

  14. I hate lambs ears. Someone had previously planted it here. Now it pops up everywhere! Drives me crazy.

  15. Absolutely glorious garden 😍 It is so delightful watching all you and the family accomplish, so much fun ❤

  16. QUESTION LAURA & AARON: What is your ultimate favorite place in the garden? Then pick a favorite tree, flower, and bush. Must pick one of each.🌲🌾🍁🍂🌺🌻🌼

  17. I like the Japanese pencil holly better than the weeping Alaskan pines. They are like a Charlie Brown tree to me, but to each their one.

  18. A clear seating area, under the weeping willow, would be a beautiful thing out there too, and just be able to sit out there watching the horses!!

  19. I knew this area behind the chicken coup would bother you and it would get a remodel. I would have kept going and removed the hibiscus and lambs ear to be done with it.

  20. It does look better without the rose and the chickens will have more of a view!
Question: Looks like you have no problem with the wisteria trying to grow back? What did you use to kill its roots? I am still fighting one that I removed years ago! I used Tordon, but got the be careful not to poison the surrounding plants.

  21. I'll just add you don't want to block too much of your view of the horses. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing horses run and frolic in a paddock.

  22. I love the "discussion" of vision for the path along the fence. Much harder way to plan a landscape, but better in the end. Also, most fences on horse paddocks are kept clean for maintenance and because horses will always lean across the fence to explore. Very hard on fences.

  23. I have brown birch and I wouldn't swap it for white birch for anything. If you don't have one you need to get some they aren't dark brown they're a gorgeous tan when they peel and the peeling part is almost white but not quite . Its a most gorgeous tree!

  24. I don’t care what anybody says, those are beautiful interesting trees. Love the way they weep.

  25. I love all the trees. I can’t be how well your flowers around the pond and the Carmines behind the Hartley are doing still this time of year. Do you think Samantha will have her own huge garden one day? I can see it happening. I think you should put a sitting area facing the fence where you were talking about putting a path. That would break up the walkway

  26. The coup is going to look sooooo much better when you get all the congestion removed. Just today's work has made a huge difference.
I Love Aaron's suggestion for a grove of birch trees, their a beautiful tree.
Weeping cedars are one of my favorite trees.

  27. FINALLY, I feel free to remove healthy things to make it cleaner – you worked your magic and I can see the value. Before and after are the proof and I'm excited to begin this process in my jungle. I just can't stand bare yards and land. Oh boy, it's that time of year and I can begin in earnest. THANK YOU as I know it will be easier to keep weeded and looking good. Did I say thank you? I've watched you for so many years and really love your results. This video finally has me seeing the light. I know my gardening will be different and more agreeable to the rest of my family and prettier for me – thank you!

  28. Haha yes the horses will push on that fence and scratch, chew and stick their heads through without a hot fence.

  29. Aaron and Laura! Such a terrific partnership. I enjoy watching you brainstorm your plans.
