I’m trying to figure out what I can plant between these trees. Unfortunately the previous owner of this property trimmed the bottom of these trees, giving a direct line of sight to the main road behind the house. What can I plant here to fill in the space? It will be partially shaded most of the day, located in zone 7.

I’d find some nice under-story trees like a pink dogwood, but maybe plant something in front of those as well like hydrangeas or lilac
