I got this sage about a week ago, its soil is damp but not soaked and it’s by a window, but it’s just not looking happy! It’s been very rainy lately and I hear they need a lot of sun- does anyone know if this could be an issue?
What do you mean “by a window”? are you growing it indoors? Sage needs to be outdoors and while it will survive in a container, it only thrives in the ground (in my experience).

Is that the pot it came in?
Repot it into a slightly larger pot.
When you are repotting, check to see if the compost is actually damp at the root.
Stand the new pot in a saucer of water and keep it outside.
Mostly, the pots which plants come in are meant for safe transport home only. Pot them on when you get home.
