It’s been in water for a couple days now, I’m going to transfer into sphagnum moss tomorrow I think. I’m very new to this and have never dealt with something like this before so any advice would be great. Also if it is a good idea to transfer into sphagnum moss or not. Or if there is a better option. I also have root drops on the way too if you think it’d be better to keep it in water and use those? Also is it too far submerged?

What plant is this? You don’t want the entire plant in water just the roots. Usually you only put plants into water to grow roots but you stated it has only been in water a few days? It looks like the bottom of the stem is black or is that just a shadow? We could help better if we had a picture with the plant out of the jar and had more information.

I dont know about florida beauty? But all my plants get soil like a month ago, you have a ton of roots.

Personally I would put it right into a good loose soil right away, and keep it moist for a couple weeks.

The roots look good, but it is more submerged than it should be and the lower leaf (circled) might rot. I’d pot it up asap.

Sphagnum moss isn’t my preferred medium: I’d go basic, slightly chunky potting soil with perlite, something like black gold all-purpose. But some folks swear by SM, and I’m sure they have good reasons to! I just like to keep it simple and I feel like all-purpose is better at “telling” me when it needs moisture if that makes sense. Weight, color, rough time tables.

I agree with putting it into soil now, unless you plan to use moss long term, or semi hydro. If either of the latter put it into what you plan to grow it in long term. It will transition easily into semi hydro since the roots are already adapted to water, but soil would be fine too. Just be sure to keep soil a bit more moist than normal for a couple weeks. It won’t tolerate being dry. Adding some mycorrhiza to the roots when you plant it will be a great benefit to them. I’ve been using TPS millions and just got a small bottle of great white that I want to test out side by side.
That makes me excited! I have one on the way. It’s stuck in customs so hopefully it makes to me alive. I’ll cry if it’s dead. Thats what I get for ordering overseas, but it cost $22 for that and couple other plants including shipping. Couldn’t pass that up, especially since it guaranteed to be alive and backed by the Etsy guarantee. The seller is new and said she’d been sending things here to learn how to ship and so far has had good experiences. Unfortunately this one is a paid item and the others were gifts so that changes customs a bit. She has all the right paperwork and paid all customs fees so hopefully it runs through smoothly. We will see.
This makes me so excited! They are so lovely. I do hope it transitions well.
