    It’s a grub. Either a june bug or something similar.

    It’s a good thing. It means there’s stuff in your subsoil for bugs to eat, leave poop behind, and continue the cycle… hakuna matata or whatever.

    Put it back, please. It’s a beetle larva. Friend.

  3. Going with Ox bore beetle. They live in weak or sick trees eating while they mature.
