Plans to construct a new cafè at a plant nursery have been submitted.

Bosses at Tamar Nurseries in Walpole Highway want to build the food and drink facility, which they say would allow people to “enjoy their purchases from the cafè as well as the plants and gardens on display”.

There is currently a vending machine offering hot and cold drinks at the site, so it is hoped a larger dining area will benefit customers.

The nursery contains various glasshouses, growing areas, offices, storage and a retail business called Rachael’s Plant Outlet.

If West Norfolk Council approves the planning application, the cafè would contain a food preparation area, serving area, and space for tables and chairs.

Additional seating would be provided under the existing veranda area and, weather-permitting, the plant display area.

The plans are out for consultation until early November.
