Hello!
A few of my Lacinato kale plants bolted this spring and they started putting up new plants on the stem? Two different plants pictured.
Both bolted and are 3 years old. I'm fairly new to gardening and read kale bolts and dies at 2 years or so. I can't seem to find anything online about the new plants on the stem. I'm wondering if this is normal or if the plant is likely to die soon.
Any info or tips appreciated.

I really don’t have advice. Really came here to say that this is such an interesting plant! But when it comes to bolting, usually pinching/pruning of the bolting shoot right as it bolts puts energy to the other parts of the plant. Neat plant tho!
Do you not eat your kale much? You have so much ready to be picked. I’m out there almost every other day, picking the lowest leaves to eat. Mine is doing what yours is doing, which I’ve seen before in Dino kale. It’s ambitious and t’s confused, and it thinks it’s a Brussels sprout and it’s growing lil “cabbages” of kale along the stalk. Just yank ‘em off and eat those, too. If you clip the bolt, you’ll likely get more lil “Brussels.”
