This plant was originally much smaller and part of a Costco Christmas centerpiece. Obviously I’m doing right by her but she spills out of containers. Is she a vine that needs to climb? A bush to plant in the ground? Pruning? Bigger and bigger pots?
Thanks!

It’s a very healthy kalanchoe blossfeldiana. If you keep it in indirect light over winter and gradually introduce more and more light in spring until it’s in full sun in the summer it should flower again

If you live somewhere warm you can plant it in the ground. They’re from Madagascar so they can’t handle cold

They need to be pruned to Bloom. Regularly pruning this keeps it blooming year round. I put them under grow lights for 12 hours of uninterrupted Dark to get them to bloom perfectly. They are like a poinsettias which need 12 hours of uninterrupted Dark to rebloom. Root the cuttings in water or soil and they bloom quickly I find. I continually make new plants with this one. It’s called a throw away plant in the industry because they are so cheap and difficult to get to rebloom if you don’t know how.

  3. This will get very leggy and drop most or all leaves if it doesn’t get enough light, about 12 hours a day is needed. I had one for 5 years and it was 4 feet of massively tangled stems across the table and had very little leaves until the ends of the stems because of only getting medium light through the day.
