Did he overseed with this? If so, why? Won’t it just die in the summer, so again, why?

Looks to me like Bermuda growing in his Bermuda but idk.

Yes. It’ll die in the summer.

    That’s the point of over-seeding.

Looks more like a sedge to me but it’s hard to tell

I had the same and it’s quack grass. Didn’t even know there was such a grass. Should just be called an invasive weed. It spreads so fast into everything

Looks like he overseeded with a turf type perennial rye. Drop spreader with some overlap.

It looks like rye in Bermuda. My lawn looks the same right now

The answer to why is that his grass will be green in the winter when other people’s will not.

Why don’t you just go and ASK HIM what he did ?

If I had grass growing in my grass I’d be happy. I mostly have weeds growing in my grass.

I’ll bite since I just overseeded tall fescue over Zoysia in New England. No clue why previous owners put in Zoysia.

The fescue is coming in for me nicely while the Zoysia is going dormant. There are a few spots I’ll need to go over, but my lawn currently looks like the inverse of this. If the Zoysia overtakes the fescue in the summer, so be it- it was very inconsistent this year. It like he did a poor job of spreading it, watering, or both.
