The second part of the Ghoul Garden update in Grow a Garden is here with more Halloween-themed items, seeds, pets, and more. You’ll be able to get a bunch of new items at the Halloween Market, especially in the new Ghostly Gadgets shop. Alongside this stall, there are also two new activities that revolve around grave digging and a Dead Tree. Find out everything we know about the Ghoul Garden expansion update!

What to Know About Ghoul Garden Part 2

Grow a Garden Ghoul Garden Dead Tree.jpg

The expansion to the Ghoul Garden update from last week includes a good chunk of new items and mutations, as well as new event activities too. However, players waiting for the update may have been thrown off since it was delayed an hour, and then the new activities were also an hour after the update. Find out how the Dead Tree and Grave Digging activities work below so you can get exclusive limited-time rewards.

Complete Dead Tree Tasks For Rewards

In Ghoul Garden Part 2, there’s a new Dead Tree that appears for four hours with tasks to complete for rewards. This is the only way to get the new Weeping Branch seed, which, unfortunately, is extremely rare at a .5% chance. Once you complete all three of their tasks, you’ll get a random reward from a pool of rewards we’ll add here shortly.

Some of the tasks you’ll need to complete include harvesting Spooky Plants, opening a Spooky Crate, and planting Bloodred Mushroom Seeds. Here are all the Dead Tree rewards you can get alongside their chances:

Go Grave Digging For Treasure

Grow a Garden Grave Digger Event.jpg

In addition to the Dead Tree, there’s also a new Gravedigger NPC you can speak with to go grave digging. This new activity lets you dig up tiles to try and find rewards. You’ll have 10 attempts to dig for items, but you’ll get another one per 5 minutes. Otherwise, you can get a Dig Trinket from a Halloween Gear Box to get more attempts.

While digging in this activity for rewards, you’ll need to find some sort of object below the dirt. This could be a large coffin or a glowing orange pumpkin. Once you find part of one, try to dig out the rest of it to get your reward. Keep in mind, the Gravedigger will leave after an hour.

The Gravedigger is the only way to get many pets and seeds that are unique to the Ghoul Garden Part 2 event. Here are all the rewards you can get from digging:

New Mutations and Events

Grow a Garden Grim Reaper Event.jpg

More Halloween weather events were added in this update, like the Marrow Moon and Grim Reaper events. These will give the community another opportunity to get Halloween mutations that the Jack-o-Lantern will hopefully accept in exchange for rewards.

The Marrow Moon event offers an okay mutation multiplier of x25 with the new mutation Moonbled. While the Grim Reaper event is a bit higher with the Blackout Mutation that gives x95. It’s also a quite involved weather event where a large Grim Reaper swipes at the island, creating black spikes throughout it.

The Grow a Garden developers also teased a new Contagion Mutation combo in their update notes. We’re not sure how to create it yet, but it could be related to mutations like Plagued. Which require Infected and Zombified. Or perhaps part of the new Blight Mutation.

All New Pets

The Ghoul Garden Part 2 update introduced six new pets to try and get. While two are available at the Creepy Critters stall during the Halloween Market, you’ll likely have to participate in the Grave Digging and Dead Tree portion of the event for the others.

A couple of the new pets seem to be themed around trolling other players. For example, the Goat will ram a random player occasionally. Or the Goblin will carry another random player to you unless they jump to be released. But there are also pets like the Dark Spriggan, which can apply the new Blight Mutation.

All New Seeds and Plants

Some of the new seeds introduced in this update were added to the Spooky Seeds shop in the Halloween Market. Once per hour, you’ll have a chance to check the Spooky Seeds shop for the new Legendary Candy Cornflower and Prismatic Blood Orange.

The update notes from the Grow a Garden developers also mention a bunch of other new seeds not in this shop. The new Weeping Branch even has a passive ability with evolving mutations, likely similar to the Evo Seeds from the Seed Stages Update. Here are all the new seeds, including the two mentioned above:

The Ghostly Gadgets shop is the newest stall added to the Halloween Market in this update. Now you can get gear like the Halloween Radar for collecting Halloween-related mutations. Even though it’s been a bit difficult to get Halloween mutations, with how rare the Great Pumpkin Seed is.

One of the new items in this shop is the Halloween Gear Box, which contains six items that you have a chance of getting. We haven’t confirmed if they’re all gear items or not. However, you can get Bland Jelly, a Dig Trinket, Jack-O-Jelly, Sugar Watering Can, Pumpkin Lollipop, and Toffee Tether out of one.

Here are all the new items you can buy from the Ghostly Gadgets shop with your hard-earned Candy Corn:
