  1. Did you know onions can handle frost better than most gardeners think? 🌱
Fall planting lets them establish before winter—then they take off in spring.
Let me know in the comments: are you trying fall onions this year?

  2. I recently dug up onions that I didn’t know were there and looked like your little ones.
I am in Long Island NY . Can I do anything with them? Thanksn

  3. Good advice 👍 but, it's Autumn. I know you call it fall. But our word is better because it's got an N at the end

  4. I have a couple I can try planting this week. The rest Im saving for the end of Jan or early Feb. I live in NE Tennessee, Zone 7.

  5. We had our largest onion, yeald ever this year. Here in Oregon, we plant ours in October. The cold and even heavy snow didn't bother them one bit. We ended up with lots of shallots, wallawalla, mexican sweet.

  6. Had my first successful onion harvest this year. I used your tips for sewing short day seeds (Florida zone 10), and can't wait to expand my onion crop this year using the same techniques. Sets didn't work for me either.

  7. Can I cut some of the onion tops while they’re growing to utilize the green onion tops aspect as well or will that keep the bulb from growing?

  8. We've always grown from sets. 2 years ago we found about short, intermediate and long day onions and we've had the best success with intermediate. Nice, big, juicy bulbs. Crazy party is, people argue with me when I tell them to grow the onion for your zone. I🤷🏿‍♂️

  9. Very successful in nw Montana. Candy intermediate daylight starts planted last week of May. Giant bulbs and keep till February
