Tiny little bugs crawling around the leaves of my houseplants and I'm worried I didn't catch it in time to quarantine and that they are everywhere.

Plants get plenty of light and are watered when thirsty. Most are in aroid potting mix.

They definitely are thrips larvae 🙁 oval-ish shape with tapered ends, will wiggle when touched.

I’d blast these plants with water from a showerhead to knock all of the larvae off. If they grow up and reproduce, the population will increase exponentially once they reach adulthood. Get rid of these before they mature and you can at least stall the next wave of eggs, then treat diligently for a few weeks minimum!

looks like thrips to me 🙁 try neem oil spray and isolate those plants asap before they spread to your other babies. (lg: biancamyxo)

Yes. I had this issue two summers ago and I tried treating with sprays and nothing would fully get rid of them. Then I did beneficial bugs and it was taken care of completely within a week or two. Def recommend that route.

  4. They’re thrips alright. I had them on several plants earlier this year. To treat, I sprayed the infected plants with insecticidal soap and put them outside. The bugs outside took care of the rest, and I’m now thrip free.
