correction: Magnolia tree

My sewer line is in the process of being replaced, and the sewer runs a lot closer to the maple tree than I had initially thought.

I'm worried that enough of the roots have been severed to cause long-term damage to it (even though it's the reason why the replacement was needed in the first place).

The closest distance from tree to root cut is about 6 feet.

While the root damage is obviously the most immediate issue at hand the tree is not good to say the least. That main union is terrible.

The tree has already cost you a new main drain line, don’t let it get more expensive.

  2. That’s a maple? Picture is low res but leaves are not screaming maple to me.

Hmm, glad I read the whole thing because the pic makes it look like less space. It could survive, I’d give it lots of water, especially once that is filled back in

Magnolia don’t like root disturbance. Maybe it will be OK.
